Abstract

The pitting behavior of nanocrystalline Cu_50/60Ni and cast Cu_50/60Ni alloys in different concentration of NaCl solutions has been investigated using various electrochemical methods.A logarithmic dependence of the passive breakdown potential (Eb),which is established using dynamic potential scan technic,on the chloride concentration was obtained for both alloys. The study on pitting propagation of both alloys was carried out using potential step chronocurrent method. As long as pits initiate on both alloys, the pits on nanocrystalline Cu_Ni alloys develop faster than those on cast alloys.
