Abstract

Undoped and Mn-doped LiCoPO4 cathode materials were synthesized via a novel sol-gel route. The effects of Mn doping on the structure, morphology and electrochemical performance of the LiCo1-xMnxPO4 cathode material were investigated.X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the olivine structure of the LiCo1-xMnxPO4 composite was well maintained after the doping of a small quantity of Mn2+.The LiCo0.99Mn0.01PO4 cathode material exhibited optimal electrochemical performance with a discharge capacity of 130.6mAh/g at 0.1C rate.
