Abstract
The electrocatalyst, Pt/MoO3 synthesized by solid state reaction, was used for the oxidation of methanol in direct methanol fuel cells. The X-Ray diffraction and cyclic voltammetry were employed to investigate the performance of the material. It was shown that the typical diffraction peaks for Pt appeared in XRD. And a good electrocatalysis for methanol oxidation was observed. The peak potential of the methanol oxidation appeared at ca. 0.63V(vs.SCE) and the peak current density for the oxidation was 78.1 mA⋅cm-2.
