Abstract
The anodes of Ti/IrO2-Ta2O5 were prepared by Pechini method. The effects of coating loading on the surface morphology and electrochemical properties of the anodes were characterized by scanning electron microscope ( SEM) ,energy dispersive X-ray detector ( EDX) ,potentiodynamic polarization, cyclic voltammetry and accelerated life test. The results indicate that with the increase of the coating loading, the oxide anode presents evident IrO2 crystallite segregation, and cracks become narrow and shallow. Moreover,it has larger electrochemically active surface area, better electrocatalytic activity for oxygen evolution and higher stability. It was observed that for an iridium content of 1. 98 ~ 9. 08 g/m2 the service life is almost proportional to the iridium content in the coating.
