Abstract
The properties of CaCl2 SEI covered on the ca electrode surface in thionyl chloride, the influence of various salts in thionyl chloride on the porformance of the Ca anode and carbon cathode, and the function of the additive CuCl2 and CuBr2 to cathode in the improvement of the cathode performance were studied by AC impedance, constant current discharge, and SEM. As a result, the Ca-SOCl2 cell was able to discharge at 50 mA·cm-2 and the capacity reached 17.5 mAh·cm-2.
