Abstract
The performance of electrochemical reaction by which 1, 5-dinitroan-thraquinone is reduced to 1, 5-diam ino-4, 8-dihydroxyanthraquinone in sulfuric acid solution
at amalgamated copper electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry, steady-state polarization and constant potential electrolysis. The result shows that the electroreduction process of 1,5-DNA is characterized by strong adsorption of reactant, subsequent irreversible chemical reaction at amalgamated copper electrode in 12.75 mol/L H2SO4 at 140℃. The electrolytic product is verified to be 1,5-DA-4,8-DHA by infra-red spectrogram, the current efficient is 78% and yield of 1,5-DA-4,8-DHA is 72%. Moreover, the experment showed that the direct electroreduction depended on electrode materials, acid strength, additives, reactant concentration and so on.
