Abstract
The formation, classification, applications and ion-transport mechanism studies of solid polymer electrolytes were reviewed. While the recent SPE reports on the preparation of novel materials, the full structure determinations of PEO/salt complexes, the exploration of ion-transport mechanism and the applications in electrochemical devices being introduced, some prospects on the future SPE research were suggested.
