Abstract
The electrochemical behavior of octadecanethiol self-assembled monolayers modified gold electrode in different concentration of Fe(CN)63-/4- is investigated by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It is determined that the apparent he-terogeneous rate constant ks is in the order of 10-6 cm·s-1, the apparent electron transfer coefficients are 0.15 and 0.22. The apparent effective thickness of the SAMs is established which can be used to describe the molecular ordering degree of self-assembled monolayers.
