Abstract

In this work,Nafion  /PTFE composite membrane was obtained by impregnating Nafion  resin into the porous PTFE substrate membrane.For the obtained composite membrane,the Nafion  content is about 50%.Mechanical properties such as the tensile strengths of dry and wet composite membranes and shrinkage upon dehydration were improved compared with Nafion  membranes.The fuel cell performance of the 25_μm_thick composite membrane was superior to that of Nafion  117 membrane.The oxygen permeability and water content of the composite membranes were also measured and compared with Nafion  membranes.
