Abstract
There exists a transition current density of Zn when the normal co-deposition of Zn-Ni alloys at chloride baths turns to anomalous type. The value increases with Cl- concentration, but is independent of pH, this is because the existence of Cl- decreases the evolution overpotential of Ni metal and has a catalytic effect on it.
